Dip-C mode replicates the recommended Dip-C / hickit data-processing pipeline locally in the browser: long-read alignment, conversion to hickit-style segments, and per-library pair deduplication. Alignments are produced by qtmap, a browser-native long-read mapper, and are functionally similar but not byte-identical to alignments from minimap2 or bwa mem; some borderline-MAPQ records will differ. Hosted references install once into browser-private storage; subsequent runs map directly from that local copy with no network access.
